The property of Castello del Poggio is located in Asti, in the heart of Piedmont in north-western Italy. The beautiful, gently hilly landscape is known in the local dialect as Appoggio. Baccorosa is a speciality, made on the property using the local grapes Brachetto and Moscato d’Amburgo. Fermentation takes place in horizontal, rotating fermentation tanks, to guarantee the best aroma, and takes place at a temperature of no greater than 18º. The result of this meticulous cellar technology is unique. The wine has a beautiful red colour and an infinite number of tiny, fine bubbles. The wine has a natural dextrose content, so the alcohol percentage is only 7. Its aromatic taste is excellent for desserts, but the wine can also be drunk on its own. Baccorosa should be enjoyed while still very young to enjoy all the aromas.
